A Look Inside our Student Magazine
Stem10 was formed in 2019 to provide students with free STEM based magazines. STEM10 is dedicated to expose students across the country to all the amazing opportunities and knowledge STEM has to offer. The STEM10 team hopes all our readers gain new found knowledge and inspiration from our magazines. We hope you learn to love STEM as much as we do!
MEET OUR TEAM
Founder & Editor-in-chief
Rithika Kacham is a rising senior at Suncoast High School. Rithika’s passions are activism, philanthropic work, women’s empowerment, and journalism. Rithika is currently head of the public health organization Girls Help Girls, which distributes feminine hygiene products to young girls and women in need throughout Palm Beach County. Furthermore, Rithika is currently advocating with PERIOD Florida for the refining of Senator Lauren Book's “Learning With Dignity” bill that will place free menstrual products in public school restrooms.
Rithika started STEM10 in 2019 because she wanted to explore the connection between science, writing, and communication. Rithika is excited to see STEM10 grow and reach as many students as possible.
Some of Rithika’s favorite movies include “Little Women,” “Uncut Gems,” and “The Florida Project.” Her favorite book is 1984 by George Orwell. Rithika plans to attend college in the fall of 2021. We can't wait to see where she heads off to!
Zarin Ismail is an avid investigative journalist for The Legend newspaper at Suncoast Community High School, and recently became their editor-in-chief. In hopes to foster her creativity, develop her writing skills and share her knowledge with the community, Ismail joined the STEM10 team in August 2019 as a writer and design editor.
In addition to her decade-long hobby of writing, Ismail has a passion for graphic design and research. She loves to create activism art with the use of her photography and film production skills; she reads journals on a wide array of topics from bionics to sociology.
Ismail also delves into traditional guilty pleasures like binging shows on Netflix and DIY crafts. Ismail seeks design inspiration and article ideas through several publications, some like Forbes, National Geographic and Science Magazine.
Ismail hopes to marry her interests into a promising career like law, computer science, film or graphic design.
Born and raised in Florida, Shivani Shah loves to write and to share her thoughts and opinions through this medium. Currently, she is the Managing Editor for The Legend at Suncoast Community High School.
Shah joined STEM10 in 2019 due to her love for science and math. She hopes that she can reach out to more parts of the community and help readers learn about the STEM fields through this project.
In her free time, Shah enjoys watching movies, dancing, listening to music and spending time with family and friends. She aspires to work in the medical field and to travel extensively around the world in the future.
Head of Communications
Victoria Lopez-Scarim is a senior at Suncoast High School. She naturally gravitates towards STEM and her love for the fields continuously grow. Victoria took part in the STEM 10 student magazine project in hopes of promoting STEM to students.
In her free time, Victoria enjoys playing flag football with friends and learning new programming languages. Victoria understands Java and is starting to take an interest in Python. She enjoys learning and challenging herself.
Victoria plans to attend college in the fall of 2021 to major in biotechnology to combine her love for biology and computer languages.
